Death Doula Services
Similar to a midwife, Death Doulas are to hospice and palliative care as birth midwives are to obstetrics. While a hospice team works primarily to manage symptoms and relieve suffering, Death Doulas provide social, interpersonal, and logistical support that complements hospice care.
The last phase of our life can stir fear and anxiety as we each face our end-of-life. This is simply because we have not walked this path before. Having someone present with the experience and training at such a time can bring a sense of comfort and familiarity to the otherwise unfamiliar.
Likewise, everyone wants to have a positive passing where they maintain dignity and honor as they exit life. We all have our own values, traditions, and belief systems that will influence our vision and expectation of what that would look like. Death Doulas create an environment that represents that vision.
As a trained Death Doula, I serve to complement your medical team, providing non-medical support to you and your loved ones in your final days.
Who we help
Those with a terminal illness in their final days and hours.
